"... A broad and versatile ensemble, offering a rich artistic space to nurture learning, explore, and share the beauty of music performed with historical authenticity ..."
The Bogotá Baroque Ensemble – EBB, with its 15 members, was founded in 2013 through the initiative of four harpsichordists from Bogotá who were interested in promoting Baroque music in Colombia, followinga historically informed performance practices. In doing so, it has become the first ensemble of its kind in the country, aiming to provide a platform for dissemination, a training ground for young musicians, and the organization of concerts in various venues nationwide.
In its efforts to reflect the taste of the period, the EBB performs its repertoire using replicas of 17th- and 18th-century instruments, with the goal of showcasing Baroque musical aesthetics and rediscovering their unique sound qualities.
The ensemble adapts its format for each concert according to the chosen program, forming duos, trios, quartets, or the full orchestra. In this latter form, it regularly collaborates with distinguished national and international soloists and conductors. As a result of its trajectory, the EBB has established itself within the city’s cultural scene, becoming a significant reference for Baroque music in Colombia.
